Michelangelo Liguori, Product Development Director - Fiat Marketing tells us about 500 Aria and Panda Aria, two veritable green manifestos presented at the Fiat stand here in Geneva. We’ve already given you a preview of them here and here.
Panda Aria, with its twin-cylinder SGE (Small Gasoline Engine) and Dualogic transmission, delivers remarkable improvements in fuel consumption, and reduces CO2 emissions by up to 10%. This is partly thanks to the Stop & Start device: in traffic or while waiting at the lights, this device allows the driver to turn off the motor and restart it automatically by simply pressing the clutch or releasing the brake pedal. Meanwhile, 500 Aria is powered by a 1.3 Multijet engine and it too has a Dualogic transmission and Stop & Start device. The latter is already available in the Fiat range from this year, starting with the 500.
Such devices employ reasonably priced technologies but are able to cut fuel consumption significantly, as well as reducing CO2 emissions.
Many of the Fiat cars presented here in Geneva already comply with the emission limits set by the Euro 5 legislation – first among them is the “Big Cinquecento”

Panda Aria, con motore bicilindrico SGE (Small Gasoline Engine) e cambio Dualogic, apporta notevoli miglioramenti sui consumi e riduce le emissioni di CO2 fino al 10%, grazie anche al dispositivo Stop & Start che permette, in situazioni di code o in sosta al semaforo, di arrestare il motore e di riavviarlo in maniera automatica semplicemente premendo la frizione o lasciando il pedale del freno. 500 Aria è invece alimentata da un motore 1.3 Multijet e anch’essa accoppiata al cambio Dualogic e al dispositivo Stop & Start, disponibile sulla gamma Fiat già da quest’anno, a partire proprio dalla 500.
Dispositivi con tecnologie economicamente accessibili ma in grado di contenere notevolmente i consumi di carburante e di ridurre le emissioni di CO2.
Sono molte, le vetture Fiat presenti qui a Ginevra che rispettano già i limiti di emissione previsti dalla normativa Euro 5, prima tra tutte la “Cinquecentona”
